“Despite what happened five days ago, we have started sending humanitarian aid to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. Fuel, food, medicine have been sent,” Aliyev said during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“This reaffirms that the people of Karabakh, regardless of their nationality, are citizens of Azerbaijan. Their rights will be guaranteed by the state of Azerbaijan,” the president said.

As Aliyev stated, he is “convinced that the process of reintegration of Karabakh Armenians into Azerbaijani society will be successful.”
At a summit in Azerbaijan’s Nakhichevan exclave, Aliyev and his close ally Erdogan celebrated the defeat of the Karabakh Armenians.
Last week, after the extended military operation by Azerbaijan, the authorities of the Armenian Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, which existed “de facto” for more than 30 years, effectively capitulated to Baku.
Currently, negotiations are underway on the reintegration of the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenian community in Azerbaijan.
It is expected that the entire territory of the disputed region will come under the control of the Azerbaijani authorities.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his readiness to accept refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh.
