Beware of Dubious Door-to-Door Transactions: Linz Police Issue Warning

Press release from September 25, 2023

On Saturday evening (September 23rd), the neighbor of the 89-year-old victim from Linz reported that traveling tradesmen had replaced his gutter. The work was carried out completely inadequately by the two workers and they received a low four-figure sum for the hour and a half of work and walked away.

Linz on the Rhine. The Linz police strongly advise against engaging in such dubious door-to-door transactions. The perpetrators usually lure people with a cheap offer, but then demand a multiple of the originally agreed amount after the work has been carried out. In addition, in most cases payment is expected in cash. An invoice will not be issued either. (PM)
