Lawyer Sébas Diekstra, who represents victims of the abuse The voice of Holland represents, will have a meeting with the British parent company ITV on Monday.
The lawyer will talk about ITV’s responsibility and the way the company has handled reports of abuse.
According to Diekstra, his clients feel that they have been “completely let down” by ITV’s management. He said this recently after an external investigation by the Van Doorne law firm into the abuses at the talent show.
The victims demand the departure of the responsible Dutch management team of ITV. A number of victims say they do not simply accept the company’s public apology.
Diekstra sees the conversation as “a crucial step” in the effort to get justice for the victims. He also wants to urge ITV to make “substantial and lasting changes” in how it handles reports of abuse and misconduct.
Although the abuses in the program already came to light in early 2022, no discussions have yet been held with the British company, according to Diekstra. In April, the lawyer said that the British company did not appear to want to meet his demands for the conversation.
