21 Saudi female players lead the green march at the opening of the “Asian Games”
Chinese President Xi Jinping officially opened on Saturday the 19th Asian Games, hosted by the Chinese city of Hangzhou. The Saudi flag was carried during the Saudi delegation’s march in the parade queue by the player Donia Abu Talib and the jockey Ahmed Al Sharbatly. Amidst an exceptional female presence, with the participation of 21 players from various sports.
Al-Sharbatli expressed his pride in raising the Kingdom’s flag in the Asian forum alongside his colleague Donia, noting that this is a source of pride, and it is a dream that any Saudi citizen dreams of, hoping that he and his colleagues will succeed in presenting the level that befits the reputation of Saudi sports.
While Donia Abu Talib expressed her pride in carrying the Saudi flag for the second time in her career after the Fifth Islamic Solidarity Games (Konya 2022), she said: “I aspire to provide an honorable level that reflects the support and interest provided by the wise leadership for sports in the Kingdom, and the continuous follow-up by the President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.” Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal and his deputy, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi.
On the other hand, the Saudi team table tennis team lost to Vietnam in its second match in the first group competitions, with a score of (3-1).
On Friday, Al-Akhdar lost to the world’s number one seed, China, with a score of (3-0).
Ali Al-Khadrawi, Azzam Alam, Turki Al-Mutairi, and Khaled Al-Sharif represented Al-Akhdar in the two matches.

The Saudi handball team will launch its first match in the tournament, by meeting its Japanese counterpart, at the Sports Center at 4:00 pm on Sunday for the fourth group, which includes alongside them; Iran and Mongolia.
