Sad news for the sport of ice hockey. The former player Nic Kerdiles died after suffering a tragic accident aboard a motorcycle this September 23 in the state of Nashville.
According to the local media DeadlineKerdile apparently ran a stop sign and abruptly collided with another car on the driver’s side. The police received the emergency call at 3:30am (1:30am Los Angeles). He was taken to a nearby hospital, but the doctors could do nothing.
The Anaheim Ducks expressed the organization’s pain upon learning of the news. In a statement on social networks they also sent messages of encouragement to the family and friends of their 29-year-old former forward.
“He became the first Orange County player to play for the Ducks in 2017. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones.”

Born in Irvine, California, in 2012 Kerdiles became the first player from that county to be drafted by the Anaheim Ducks. He was with the organization from 2016 to 2018 before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets.
Before coming to the NHL, he was in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament as a child, where representing the United States he helped win two gold medals; He also played two seasons for the University of Wisconsin.
