Contingency continues due to forest fires in Huila • La Nación


From the Crisis Room of the Department of Huila it is reported that there are 9 active forest fires, in the municipalities of Yaguará (3), Palermo (4), Tesalia (1) and Tarqui (1).

The fire that is active and of great magnitude is the one that occurred in the La Zeta Crossing, Vilú village, municipality of Yaguará. At this time, the assistance is supported by 27 units of the Disaster Battalion and 23 units of the Ninth Brigade of the Army, 4 units of the Teruel Volunteer Fire Department and 11 units of the Huila Sectional Civil Defense. Today we continue with the support of the Colombian Air Force – FAC, with the helicopter and bamby bucket.

The other forest fires are being attended to by the Volunteer Fire Department – ​​CBV – of the locality of each of the municipalities.

It is confirmed that thanks to the efforts carried out by the Government of Huila, national support will be received with helicopters to respond to fires in the vegetation cover in the department.

We reiterate to the people of Huila to refrain from carrying out all types of open burning that may generate emergencies. Let us remember that disaster risk management is the responsibility of EVERYONE.
