Libreville, Saturday September 23, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – The interview granted yesterday by the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, to the President of the Lower House of Parliament, Jean-François Ndongou, focused on the resumption of the activities of this institution.
More than ten days after his appointment, the President of the National Assembly was received in audience yesterday by the President of the Republic. The exchange between Jean-François Ndongou and Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema focused mainly on the functioning of this Chamber of the Gabonese Parliament. The two men spoke about the organization of the work with the added bonus of reducing the number of commissions which could go from eight to five and the integration of priority issues relating to sustainable development and the environment.
According to a press release from the Gabonese presidency, “the new president of the National Assembly has also proposed an increase in the number of deputies from political parties within the institution for optimal treatment of political issues.”
As part of the continuation of his consultations, the same source indicates the president of the Transition spoke with Richard Auguste Onouviet and Paul Toungui, two former dignitaries of Gabon. “Honored to have been received by the President of the Transition, the two personalities were edified on the Transition process as well as its objectives. At the end of this hearing, they expressed the desire to support him throughout this process,” the text underlines.
