REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TASIKMALAYA — Commercial flights will be served again at Wiriadinata Airport, Tasikmalaya City, West Java. The plan is that the first flight will be carried out on Monday (2/10/2023), with the route Wiriadinata Airport to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta.
Head of the Tasikmalaya City Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism Service (Disporabudpar), Dedi Mulyana, said that his party was happy with the reactivation of flights at Wiriadinata Airport. According to him, the operation of air transportation will certainly have a positive impact on Tasikmalaya City and the surrounding area.
“We welcome this reactivation. This will have an impact, not only on Tasikmalaya, but also the surrounding area,” said Dedi in Tasikmalaya City, Saturday (23/9/2023).
According to Dedi, so far, many people have been reluctant to come to Tasikmalaya City because of the long travel time. With the return to operation of commercial aircraft at Wiriadinata Airport, he continued, it will be easier for tourists to travel to Tasikmalaya City.
He explained that the Tasikmalaya City Government (Pemkot) would also allocate a budget for official travel outside the city so that they could use air transportation. On the other hand, his party will also try to withdraw the meeting which is usually held in Jakarta, to be held in Tasikmalaya City.
“This will be a support for the economy in Tasikmalaya City, adding PAD. Because people who were previously reluctant to come to Tasikmalaya because of transportation, along with flights becoming active again, that can be boosted again.” said Dedi.
Previously, the Tasikmalaya City Government had confirmed that commercial flights would resume operations at Wiriadinata Airport starting October 2 2023. This certainty was obtained after the signing of a cooperation agreement between PT Citilink Indonesia and CV Adirama Mitra Sehati to open flights from Wiriadinata Airport to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
