He explained that the international community faces a number of common challenges, which necessitate collective action to confront them effectively, pointing out that progress will not be achieved in addressing them without providing a safe and stable regional and international environment that enables countries to work in partnership with each other.

The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated that, given that Arab issues constitute a prominent share of the issues raised in the Security Council, strengthening cooperation and joint work between the League of Arab States and the Security Council, to establish peace and security in the Arab world, is of great importance, and that the Kingdom is interested in improving this cooperation. It should result in a common perspective for dealing with crises and peaceful solutions to them.

In this regard, Prince Faisal bin Farhan welcomed the positive results of the serious discussions on reaching a road map to support the peace path, which brought together the Saudi communication and coordination team with the Sanaa delegation in Riyadh, with Omani participation. He also expressed the Kingdom’s aspiration that the dialogue between the Yemeni parties would contribute to the transition in Yemen to security and stability, which paves the way for a future in which Yemen enjoys a comprehensive renaissance and sustainable development.

The Arab Summit Troika consists of Algeria, the former president of the summit, Saudi Arabia, the current president, and Bahrain, which will host the next Arab League summit.

Issues of the Islamic world

The Saudi Foreign Minister praised the efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and member states in their response to the Kingdom’s call to hold an extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member states, regarding the repeated crime of desecration and burning of copies of the Holy Qur’an in Sweden and Denmark, which resulted in the issuance of a decision aimed at establishing appropriate procedures for non-aggression.
