Exciting New Features in iOS 17: Personalized Calls, Enhanced FaceTime, and More

PALOPOPOS.FAJAR.CO.ID– Apple released the iOS 17 operating system update on September 18. This update can be downloaded for free as a software update. iOS 17 includes a number of improvements that make the iPhone look cooler. Wow!

One of the big updates comes to communication apps like StandBy, AirDrop, and smarter input. This update improves typing speed and accuracy, and makes iPhone more personal and intuitive.

Incoming call

The phone app, considered essential to the iPhone experience, is getting a major update in iOS 17 that makes phone calls even more important.

Personalized contact forms give users a new way to express themselves by customizing their appearance when calling famous contacts, including on other calling apps.

Contact stickers can be customized with beautiful settings including photos, Memoji, and beautiful fonts and font colors. Contact posters give users a new way to express themselves and bring a new look to incoming calls.

Live Voicemail provides instant transcription when someone leaves a voicemail and gives users the option to respond when the caller leaves a message.

By enabling silent caller, unknown numbers will be automatically forwarded to Direct Voicemail and calls identified by the user as spam will be automatically rejected. A new way to enjoy FaceTime

Users can leave video or audio messages on FaceTime to say exactly what they want to say when the person they’re calling isn’t there.

FaceTime calls are enhanced with reactions like hearts, balloons, lights, and laser beams that can be activated with simple gestures, and are also available in other supported video conferencing apps like Zoom and Cisco Webex.

FaceTime now supports video and audio messaging so that when users call someone who isn’t there, they can share a moment or message that they can enjoy later.

FaceTime also offers a connected experience on Apple TV 4K so users can enjoy FaceTime calls with friends or family on the big screen.

Start a FaceTime call on iPhone with the front camera or directly from Apple TV.

With Center Stage, users are well positioned even as they move around the room.

There are many ways to connect with Messages

Messages adds new features that make it easier to use and even more fun when connecting with the people who matter most.

Searching in Messages becomes more sophisticated and precise with search filters; audio messages are transcribed automatically so users can read them on the spot or listen to them later; replying inline becomes as easy as swiping a text bubble; and a new expandable menu provides easy access to all iMessage apps, giving Messages a sleeker look.

Users now have another way to customize their messages with a new sticker experience that adds the ability to create Live Stickers from photo subjects. Fun effects can be added to stickers, bringing them to life and giving users a way to get creative.

Check In, an important feature built into Messages, allows users to notify family members or friends when they have arrived at their destination safely. Once a user initiates Check In, their contacts will be automatically notified as soon as the user arrives.

Useful information, such as device location, battery level, and cellular service status, is temporarily shared with selected contacts in a secure and private way.

StandBy makes iPhone more useful when charging

StandBy is a new full-screen experience with at-a-glance information designed to be viewed remotely while iPhone is tilted and charging. StandBy can be personalized to display different clock styles, favorite photos, or widgets, including Smart Stacks, which show the right widget at the right time.

StandBy also displays full-screen Live Activity, Siri results, incoming calls, and larger notifications. With the Always-On display, StandBy stays on to display useful information, and with Night Mode, StandBy adapts to low light, so the clock, photos, and widgets have a beautiful red color.

Sharing just got easier

AirDrop makes sharing with friends, family and colleagues even easier. NameDrop, a new AirDrop feature, allows users to exchange contact information, including their Contact Posters, simply by holding their iPhone devices together.

With the same gesture, users can also share content or start SharePlay to listen to music, watch movies or play games at close range. Later this year, Apple will add AirDrop’s ability to resume transfers over the internet when the user goes out of AirDrop range.

AutoCorrect and Dictation Updates

AutoCorrect received a comprehensive update with the new transformer language model, a powerful on-device machine learning language model for word prediction–improving the experience and accuracy for users every time they type.

Inline predictive text helps complete sentences quickly, while Dictation’s new speech recognition model delivers increased accuracy.

Journal

Journal (Journal) is a new iPhone app that helps users reflect on everyday moments and special events in their lives. To help inspire users’ journal entries, personalized suggestions can be intelligently curated from users’ recent activities, such as photos, people, places, sports, and more, and scheduled notifications can help build a journaling habit.

With the ability to lock apps, use of on-device processing, and end-to-end encryption, Journal is built to protect user privacy and ensure that no one–including Apple–can access user entries.

That’s the big update in iOS 17, in addition to other additional features like Safari, easier and more secure sharing of passwords and passkeys, Health, Apple Music, AirPlay, AirPods, Home, Maps, and more. (*/pp/uce)
