Knife Fight Injures Three Teenagers In Front of Brooklyn High School: An Eyewitness Account

With a household knife. That is the knife that was involved in a fight, in front of a Brooklyn high school, and where 3 teenagers ended up injured. One of them in critical condition.

Our reporter Gary Merson, from Univision 41, was able to talk with a young woman who works around Brownsville Academy. She witnessed what happened at 3:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday.

“Everyone ran for their lives, that is not the only fight that has happened, like this extreme yes, but other fights have happened,” he said.

One of the injured, an 18-year-old, was stabbed in the chest and is in serious condition at Kings County Hospital. The other two young people, 18 and 19, are stable.

“We have to worry about our children”

Bishop David Maldonado, community religious leader of Brooklyn, told Univision 41 about the incident and hopes that security measures will be taken to preserve the lives of the young people.

“I understand that some things get out of hand, but it’s not going to happen if we worry about our children. We have to worry about it, because the politician doesn’t live here,” he said.

In a statement, the New York City Department of Education said: “Police, emergency medical services, and school safety officers responded immediately to this incident, which occurred off school property.”

The NYPD reported that one person is in custody and will undergo questioning.
