GOLDEN MORAVES. What do Matej Slávik, Matej Moško, Vladimír Majdan, Samuel Suľa, Richard Nagy, Miroslav Gono, Filip Balaj and Branislav Sľuka have in common?
All eight are former players of MŠK Žilina. And at the same time, they all came to ViOn Zlaté Moravce during the summer transfer period.
The latest addition is a former youth representative of Sluka, who will strengthen the left side of the defense. In June, he also participated in the training camp of national team coach Francesco Calzona.
“I have a follower of ViOn. The whole team under coach Cifranič is growing, but the only thing missing is victories if I want to help.
In football, it is always about mutual help between the player and the club. The club helps me in the form of opportunity and trust.
Now it’s up to me to help the club as much as possible on the field, but also off it,” said the Žilina native and MŠK Žilina student about his engagement in Zlaté Moravce, as quoted by the club’s website.
Sluka played a total of 106 matches for the Shoshone A-team, 69 of which were in the highest Slovak competition. In total, he scored eight goals and 15 assists in them.
He also worked in České Budějovice and the Hungarian club MTK Budapest. He played in 13 duels for the national team and scored two goals.
“He already has enough experience. We are convinced that our choice is the right one and we will help each other football-wise,” said ViOn general manager Marek Ondrejka.
In the current 2023/2024 season, the football players of Zlatý Moraviec have not yet won, they have lost six times in the previous seven meetings and only got one point for a draw.
They are therefore in the penultimate 11th place in the table, just ahead of MFK Zemplín Michalovce, which played one match less.
