The Impact of Live Selling Artists on Conventional Traders and the Need for Synergy

Jakarta

A lot of them live selling artists on social media applications This is said to be one of the reasons why conventional traders lack buyers. Until finally there were many calls asking to close the live sales application which is usually used by artists to sell.

Pros and cons of course arise in response to this crowd. While chatting with Melaney Ricardo at the Rumpi: No Secret event, Tuesday (19/9/2023) Feni Rose highlighted changes in the way consumers shop.

This also needs to be paid attention to along with the progress of the times and technology.

“What’s the real problem? In my opinion. As you said earlier, MSMEs, offline stores feel disturbed by live. Actually, those who live are not just artists, ordinary people too. In fact, the ones with big sales are ordinary people, not artists,” he said. Feni Rose.

“They are diligent in creating content. But that’s what the digital world is like now. Because now people’s shopping habits have also changed, they’re a bit different. If they go offline, sometimes there are lots of problems, right? traffic jams, expensive parking fees. At home, right? “Just like this (ordering via gadget) the goods arrive. Moving other fields too,” he explained.

According to Feni Rose, a ban is not a way out. The participation of these artists should be able to be utilized by conventional traders, so that it can become a synergy.

“What it looks like, in my opinion, it’s not like I’m defending an artist or anything. I agree that not everyone can sell live because they’re tired,” he said.

Therefore, it would be even better if there was a system or forum for MSMEs to communicate with artists. Artists can also promote and sell these products.

“This could be input for the government, it could be synergized. If you really want MSME goods, MSME goods can be sold even through artists,” said Feni Rose, providing input.

“The system just needs to be built. So don’t just play games with prohibitions. Learn first, chat first with the perpetrators. Actually, there can be synergy,” said Feni Rose.

Reporting from detikfinance, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) responded that his party was pursuing a revision of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 50 of 2020. He also saw how traders at Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta were complaining about the decline in turnover due to TikTok cs.

Zulhas said that the revised Minister of Trade Regulation on Business Licensing, Advertising, Development and Supervision of Business Actors in Electronic Trading (PPMSE) would regulate trade competition with MSMEs more fairly.

“Soon the revision of Minister of Trade Regulation Number 50 of 2020 will be completed. Hopefully it will be finished this week. We will arrange it later, so that competition is fair, does not harm MSMEs, does not harm offline traders and so on,” said Zulhas at the Ministry of Trade Office, Thursday (21/9/2023).

He also said he could not prohibit artists or influencers from selling on TikTok CS. However, he emphasized that he would regulate its implementation.

“It can’t be banned, it can’t be. But it will be regulated, not banned, regulated,” promised Zulhas.
