Three singers will perform Piaf’s songs, they are the voices of the concert: Laetitia Jullian, Reva Juventin and Christine Casula.
TAHITI, September 20, 2023 – The concert entitled Piaf…la diva and proposed by Tahiti Concert will tell the story of this great lady of French song in songs, but also in images. The production and musical direction of this commemorative event will be provided by Felix Vilchez.
Édith Giovanaa Gassion, known as Édith Piaf, died in October 1963. It is to commemorate the 60th anniversary of her death that Tahiti Concert is offering a tribute event with artists on stage, but also and as usual, unpublished photos, interviews. These will be “our guiding principle for the evening”, announces Felix Vilchez, producer and musical director.
According to him, “to talk about Edith Piaf is to talk about the most important icon of French popular music”. She had a short and difficult life, “but a life lived one hundred percent, a life full of intense experiences”. Piaf was “the perfect crystal through which people feel represented with total transparency and authenticity. She was in the pain of the other, showed love and determination”.
“The kid” became a star
French singer, songwriter, composer and actress, she was nicknamed in her early days: la môme Piaf. Among his great classics are: “La vie en rose”, “Non, rien de rien”, “La Foule”, “Milord”, “Mon Dieu” and even “The Accordionist”. These titles will of course be repeated at the Petit Théâtre. They will illustrate the dramas of the life of the diva who inspired thousands of singers around the world.
