Libreville, September 20, 2023 (AGP) – The president of the Rally for the Fatherland and Modernity (RPM), Alexandre Barro Chambrier, was in front of the press, this Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at his headquarters located in the Glass district, in the 4th district of Libreville, to discuss the events that have occurred in Gabon since the elections of August 2023.
“We must therefore return, within a reasonable time, to normality, that is to say, to a constitutional order respectful of democratic principles and human rights,” he declared.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, he therefore praised the determination of the Gabonese army and said he was ready to support the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI).
“This is the place, for me, to salute the courage and bravery of our army in putting an end to this crime which had lasted too long. And with it, its share of deaths. The RPM is therefore willing to provide executives from our party to help it succeed in the transition process,” said Alexandre Barro Chambrier
Just as he said he was ready to act with the RPM as a force of proposal for the CTRI.
“We will feed the CTRI with our analyzes and our reflections, so that the political and institutional model that will emerge from the transition allows transparency and other democratic values to take root in our country,” indicated the president of the RPM. .
Returning to the last canceled general elections, Alexandre Barro Chambrier said that the main lesson he draws from these events is that “we were right to go to the elections, unlike those who advocated a boycott”.
This is the first time that Alexandre Barro Chambrier has made a public outing at the local level since the seizure of power by the Defense and Security Forces on August 30.
