Starfield: Bethesda’s Most Successful Release with Exciting Updates and Future Plans

We already wrote about the fact that the release of Starfield was the most successful release of Bethesda’s game in its entire history. Given the type of game and the fact that not everyone started playing it right away (let alone every player finished it and didn’t want to go back to it), it’s still a relevant topic, which will be true long after release, because these open-world Bethesda games have the ability to retain their players for many years, see previous titles like Skyrim or Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 (some may remember this game as a failure, which was true upon release, but today it is an active title with a vibrant community and regular content updates). You can also read about Starfield in our article Starfield: typical Bethesda game, space battles, fast travel for landing on planets.

A few days ago, Bethesda released an announcement thanking all players for their support and feedback, saying that they will continue to support and improve the game for many years to come, so they welcome any additional feedback and suggestions for improvement. But mainly it was said that we can expect updates that will contain the functions that players most demand, specifically, for example:

Brightness and contrast control Menu with HDR calibration options FOV level setting Native support for DLSS (on PC) Native support for ultrawide monitors with an aspect ratio of 32:9 (on PC) Ability to eat food as soon as it is discovered without having to go to inventory

It should be noted that these are core features that should have been in the game at release and not have to wait for Bethesda to implement them into the game. And this also applies to the absence of native support DLSS for graphics cards from Nvidia, given the importance of this game and its demand for HW performance – already on the day of release, it was possible to add support for DLSS to the game using external modifications from modders, who clearly showed that it is not difficult from a technical point of view.

There was also mention of the addition full mod support (Creations) which we should expect early next year and should cover all platforms similar to Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Along with that, there was also the release of a small one update 1.7.29which was focused primarily on stability and performance improvements and included fixes for the following bugs in quests:

All That Money Can Buy: Fixed an issue where player activity could make it impossible to complete a quest.
Into the Unknown: Fixed an issue where the quest might not start after completing the main story.
Shadows in Neon: Fixed an issue where player activity could make it impossible to complete a quest.
