Microsoft suffered a huge leak yesterday that contained personal emails, datasheets for internal use, and future plans for the Xbox. However, the data is usually at least a year old, and many tranches are much older than that.
When Xbox boss Phil Spencer has now commented on the leaks, it’s precisely the older files he’s focused on and regrets that the team’s hard work has been leaked in this way. He also said plans have changed since the film was made.In an internal letter to employees, he (viaThe Verge)explain:
“I know it’s disappointing, even though many documents are over a year old and our plans have evolved.
Speaking publicly, Spencer wrote on
“It’s difficult to see our team’s work shared in this way because so much has changed and there is so much to be excited about now and in the future. We will share our real plans when we are ready.
The leaks, which appear to be Microsoft’s own fault, include plans to update the Xbox Series X next year, the idea of acquiring Nintendo, upcoming remasters of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, and more.
