However, she emphasizes that there is a recommended amount of curcumin per person, per day. “A safe intake is 1 to 3 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day, which amounts to about 4 to 8 grams of turmeric powder,” says De Vries. But one should take into account that excessive and prolonged use can also lead to kidney stones, lead poisoning and liver problems.
