Exploring Latin American Culture Through Dominoes: A Visual Art Exhibition

Nine local visual artists will exhibit their art pieces inspired by dominoes, a sport that has historically been an important part of Latin American culture and is often associated with traditions and shared values such as family, community and friendship.

The exhibit, which opens this Tuesday, will be attended by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz. Together with them they will join the Domino USA organization.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to play dominoes on the tables that will be installed in the rotunda, allowing them to live the experience of this highly competitive sport that has become a cultural phenomenon that unites generations.

The arts are an intrinsic part of Hispanic heritage, which is why the municipality presents an annual art exhibition during this important month to further illustrate the richness of Latin American history and culture.

This exhibit promotes the municipality’s multicultural efforts to ensure that Orlando is a diverse, inclusive and welcoming community.

The exhibition will be open until Friday, November 13, 2023.
