Mosellan Verrissima opens its capital to Carvest, Bpifrance and Groupe ILP

Manufacturer of flat glass for housing and industry in Goetzenbruck (Moselle), Verrissima announced, on September 12, that it would open its capital to three minority shareholders, a first for the family SME of 200 employees with a turnover of 30 million in 2022. Crédit Agricole Régions Investissement (Carvest), the public bank Bpifrance and the proximity fund Groupe ILP (Lorraine Institute of Participation) form the trio of new entrants. The operation aims to accelerate the growth of the Lorraine glass industry led by Jonathan Metz, representative of the second generation of leaders, who considers “essential to establish a strong association with known and recognized economic players. » The opening of the capital is part of the particular context of the construction of a new factory in Rohrbach-lès-Bitche (Moselle), an investment of €10.5 million aimed at bringing together, by the end of 2024 , the sites of Goetzenbruck and Lemberg (Moselle). “We are delighted to contribute to the influence of this glassworks, which in a quarter of a century has become a transregional group combining ancestral know-how and modernization of production tools”comments Guillaume Heitz, regional director at Carvest. This Thursday, September 14 in the morning, the Maison des Entreprises buzzes with lively exchanges. Several dozen former employees of CEAT in Longvic (Côte-d’Or), a mobile phone repair company liquidated on July 24 by the Dijon commercial court, responded to the UIMM’s proposal which creates a job dating for them. “It is an emergency organization, to respond to the situation of employees of CEAT, a company member of the UIMM. As we had no way of contacting former employees directly, we went through the company’s CSE (social and economic committee)”notes Anaïs Patin, in charge of communications at UIMM 21.

No fewer than 17 companies in the Dijon area receive former employees without formality, hoping to hire them. Most are looking for industrial profiles, such as the Dijon manufacturer of machining machines for metal construction Vernet-Behringer which wants to strengthen its production lines, or the manufacturer of transdermal patches Adhex Pharma whose recruitment needs number in dozens . This morning, more than 150 employees were able to exchange and distribute their CVs. On the employer side too, satisfaction is essential. “We have collected several CVs of interest, which will lead to interviews, but of course, it does not match every time”comments Sébastien Fuertes, production manager at CLM in Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur (Côte-d’Or), specialist in containment boxes for the nuclear industry, who is looking for technical sales representatives and production agents. CAF wants to hire 200 people on the former Alstom site in Reichshoffen in AlsaceTaker last year of the regional train factory in Reichshoffen (Bas-Rhin) which belonged to Alstom, the Spanish railway manufacturer CAF adopts an offensive strategy : he announced a plan to hire 200 people by 2025, in two phases of around a hundred each, the first in the next six months. The Alsatian site currently employing 700 employees aims to “welcome new structuring and innovative projects” resulting from “strong development of activities in France of CAF, explains the group. New orders, notably for Intercités trains, are expected in Reichshoffen, whose first market under the CAF era will consist of the manufacture, for €161 million, of 18 Coradia trains for the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and Senegal. The egg producer and distributor PEB-Coquy inaugurated its new packaging center in Flagey (Doubs) on September 12. The old site of 2,400 m2 was replaced by two new buildings of 1,800 m2 each. The entire machinery fleet has been renewed in order to significantly increase the productivity of grading and packaging operations. This investment of €5 million follows the purchase of the company in 2019 by three agricultural cooperatives united in the BFC Alliance: Terre Comtoise for 72% of the capital, Dijon Céréales and Bourgogne du Sud for 14% each.

Created in 1956 by the Bourgon family, the SME was sold by Georges Bourgon who has since made Agrodoubs, the former subsidiary of Coquy, prosper. Every day, the SME (45 employees, turnover of just over €10 million) boxes 250,000 eggs laid in the Flagey henhouses and at nine partner farmers located within a 150 kilometer radius. Specializing in fresh, local and “ quality », she banned cage farming. Veka installs the logistics of its profiles near Chalon-sur-Saône

The manufacturer of PVC profiles Veka has chosen the Chalon-sur-Saône basin (Saône-et-Loire) to set up the logistics center intended to distribute products from its Thonon-les-Bains factory in Haute-Savoie. The platform, which is scheduled to be commissioned in early 2025, will be deployed over 11,000 m2 built in Saint-Loup-de-Varennes. Its completion will result from an investment of €16.5 million which should result in the creation of around fifteen jobs initially and 25 eventually. The choice of this location off-center in relation to production is explained, according to Veka management, by the location more at the heart of international transport routes and less tension in the search for labor than at the edge of the Lake Geneva borders Switzerland. Verdict on September 27 for the Alsatian textile group Schmitt

The scenario focuses on the sole rescue of the Velcorex velvet company in Saint-Amarin (Haut-Rhin), in the form of a cooperative company of a few dozen employees. © Written Traces

The Schmitt textile group obtains a two-week reprieve to determine its destiny, which is moving towards a very significant downsizing. In the context of its judicial recovery pronounced last June, the hearing of September 13 at the commercial chamber of the judicial court of Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) resulted in a postponement of decision until September 27, the time for the offers in the running to refine oneself. But the most interesting on paper, that of the Franco-Swiss fund Big Invest aiming to take over the entire workforce (140 people) and companies (Velcorex in Saint-Amarin, its supplier Emanuel Lang in Hirsingue and Philéa in the origin of the group in Soultz, all in Haut-Rhin), it did not convince the audience as to its ability to raise the announced funds of €40 million.

Which brings the employee cooperative takeover project to the forefront, focused on Velcorex, the velvet specialist. Its holders claim that its financing is in place and that they have reached an agreement with the Swiss creditor who could block the process and had at one time become a candidate for the takeover. But the number of employees ready to continue in this cooperative mode decreases over time, there remain a little less than fifty volunteers, compared to 60 at the end of August, out of a workforce of 85 people.
