The Government of the Province of Moxico reiterates its commitment to continue implementing structuring actions in the region, with the aim of guaranteeing comfort and security for the population.
This intention was reiterated, this Saturday, by the vice-governor of Moxico for the Technical and Infrastructure sector, Wilson Augusto, during the act of consignment of the three-way asphalting work in the Mandembwe neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Luena, with a length of 1.39 kilometers.
These roads will connect the National Road and the main street at Luena Airport, passing through the Munduduleno stadium, to boost the flow of traffic in the capital city of the province, within the framework of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities.
The highway will benefit from two lanes, three and a half meters each, sidewalks, public lighting posts and signage, budgeted at 788 million, 769 thousand and 481 kwanzas, the contract for which could last seven months, under the responsibility of the company Próspero and Divino, LDA.
“We know that the neighborhood has more roads and more problems, but with this initiative we will allow (…) safe circulation in this area”, said the leader, having called for strict compliance with the contract.
The second phase of requalification of the peripheral neighborhoods of Luena, includes the Social da Juventude, Sinai Novo, Mandembue, Passa-Fome, Alto Campo and Kwenha neighborhoods, covering 12 kilometers of road.
The first phase of this project, which began in 2022, covered the neighborhoods of Tchifuchi, Santa Rosa, Popular, and part of Sangondo, missing the Hospital and N’zange, with the implementation of asphalt carpet, public lighting and sidewalks.
Recently, the provincial governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, announced the requalification of more than 85 percent of the city’s peripheral neighborhoods, as part of the implementation of the Master Plan for this region.
