Ukraine has filed claims with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, the country’s Ministry of Economy reports. Earlier, three EU states extended the embargo on the import of products from Ukraine.

“It is fundamentally important for us to prove that individual member states cannot ban the import of Ukrainian goods. <…> Ukraine sees in this a violation by three EU countries of their international obligations,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy says in the telegram channel. It is noted that Kyiv filed claims with the WTO against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.

Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko said that EU countries should not unilaterally coordinate trade policy. According to her, these issues must be resolved collectively in the EU. Due to Kyiv’s actions on grain, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia previously withdrew from the coordination platform with the European Commission on grain issues.
