Jakarta –
Getafe coach Jose Bordalas had claimed that Jude Bellingham suggest that Mason Greenwood to LaLiga. Bordalas now retracted his words.
Greenwood joins Getafe in the summer transfer market. The 21 year old player was recruited by Getafe on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
Some time ago, Bordalas claimed to have been told that Bellingham was the one who convinced Greenwood to move to LaLiga.
“Greenwood is friends with Bellingham and he recommended that he play in the Spanish League,” said Bordalas to Radio Marca at that time.
Now Bordalas has withdrawn his words about Bellingham and apologized. He clarified that the Real Madrid player had nothing to do with Greenwood’s transfer.
“I want to clear up any misunderstandings that exist,” said Bordalas as reported by ESPN.
“I said that Mason Greenwood moved to Getafe because he had spoken to Bellingham. They clarified to me that it was not like that.”
“I’m sorry. This (Greenwood’s recruitment) was because of our interest. He was offered to us and we were very interested. I just want to set the record straight, there was no bad intention,” said Bordalas.
Mason Greenwood made his debut for Getafe in the match against Osasuna at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium, Sunday (19/9). It was his first competitive match since January 2022.
