Apple Announces iPhone 15 Pro: Fastest Performance and Exclusive Features

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apple finally announced the iPhone 15 series earlier this week, early orders, aka pre-orders, are already available in several countries.

Apart from introducing a USB-C charging port, the tech giant is also bringing new and exclusive features to its iPhone 15 Pro line.

Powered by the A17 Pro chip which includes a 6-core GPU, Apple says the iPhone 15 Pro will have the fastest performance of any smartphone on the market today.

Apple is also trying to attract the attention of game-loving consumers. At a recent keynote, Apple said four AAA games, including Resident Evil Village and Assassin’s Creed Mirage, were getting exclusive native versions on the iPhone 15 Pro.

“The key components are in place. We can enable applications to enable those experiences, and of course the developer’s job is to try to take those tools, put them together, and build the experience for you, the gamer, so that it all comes together,” said Tim Millet, Vice President of Platform Architecture Apple, quoted from an interview with IGNMonday (18/9/2023).

In the interview, IGN asked about the possibility of this phone heating up quickly when running more graphically intensive games or more complex games.

Kaiann Drance, Apple’s Vice President of iPhone Product Marketing stated, at the system level, Apple works across teams to understand how performance is enabled. How will this manifest in actual gameplay, and whether the smartphone will be able to not only achieve high frame rates.

“I know that we do a lot on the SoC side, we do a lot on the software side to make sure that this is a great experience,” Drance said.

While Millet continues, Apple is embedding tools like MetalFX that allow users to maintain a longer experience when playing games.

Users can also make incoming and outgoing calls, depending on the experience they want to have.

“But what’s important is giving them the tools to build sustainable experiences. And that starts with the super-efficient, high-performance SoCs, GPUs and associated software that run them,” he explained.
