Danish actor and Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen will be awarded a Golden Eye for his career at the 19th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF). In Zurich he will present the film “The Promised Land” by Nikolaj Arcel.
Mikkelsen is one of the star guests at the 19th edition of the ZFF (September 28th – October 8th).
He is coming to Zurich for the first time and is scheduled to receive his Golden Eye on October 6th.

He is one of the “most popular and versatile actors in contemporary cinema,” writes the ZFF in a statement on Monday. Mikkelsen is an “irresistible character actor” in Danish auteur films and has also established himself in Hollywood.
He became internationally known in roles in blockbusters such as “Casino Royale”, “Star Wars Rogue One” and most recently “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”.
In Zurich he will present the frontier western “The Promised Land”. The ZFF also honored him for his portrayal of a soldier in this film who conquers the wild heath in Jutland.
