A strike by Detroit workers brought the US auto industry to a standstill for a third day. Meanwhile, the United Auto Workers union said it was optimistic about talks with Ford Motor on Saturday. The union is also trying to reach an agreement with General Motors and Stellantis. It has been suggested that Stellantis will be given a 20 percent increase in wages and a 10 percent increase as soon as the agreement is reached. However, this is half of the 40 percent increase that the union demanded in 2027. The discussion will continue on Monday.
