Expatriates Arrested in Kuwait for Possessing Alcohol: 23 Asians Caught with 540 Bottles

Kuwait City: Expatriates arrested for possessing alcohol in Kuwait. Home Ministry officials arrested 23 expatriates. Asians were arrested.

540 bottles of locally produced liquor were seized from them. They were arrested from nine different places. The accused were arrested from places including Khaitan, Mahboola, Fahaheel and Salmiya. They have been handed over to the concerned authorities for further legal action.

At the same time, 27 people involved in prostitution were arrested in Kuwait the other day. People from different countries were arrested. They were arrested during investigations conducted by the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration of Criminal Investigation, as part of monitoring their involvement in activities that violate public morals.

Men and women of different nationalities have been arrested. People involved in such activities using online sites in exchange for money were arrested in Hawalli Governorate, Salmia and Mahboula areas. The authorities reminded that if such incidents are noticed, the information should be reported.

Ban on non-resident bachelors from registering address in private residential areas

KUWAIT CITY: Expatriate bachelors are banned from registering addresses in private residential areas in Kuwait. The Public Authority for Civil Information has taken steps to block the address registration of non-residents who are bachelors. Khalid Al Shammari, Director of the Office of the Director General and Official Spokesperson of the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI), informed that this is possible through the Authority’s automated procedures and systems.

Al Shammari said the Public Authority for Civil Information is a member of a joint government committee to prevent bachelors from living in private housing areas. The authority is actively working to prevent bachelors from staying in private housing areas. The authority receives complaints and conducts on-site verification of any violations related to this issue. He said the initiative will be in place from 2021 and will be known to the public through the residents’ data service on the authority’s website. It is now available in the unified government application, he added.
