Libreville, Sunday September 17, 2023 (Infos Gabon) – As a prelude to the start of the school year scheduled for this Monday, the Minister of National Education carried out a site visit last Friday to these two newly built public schools.

As school resumes this Monday, September 18, 2023 across the entire Gabonese territory for the 2023-2024 school year, the Minister of National Education visited the public school sites of Bikele Ziwac last Friday and Montalier transformation. Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq went to touch on the state of progress of these pre-primary and primary schools expected to open their doors from this 2023-2024 school year. She went to ensure that all the amenities are in place in preparation for the effective start of classes this Monday. “We are delighted to see these schools come to fruition because these are projects that we have been following from the start,” she underlined.

Built with the assistance of the French Development Agency (AFD) as part of the First Phase of the investment project in the education sector (PISE), these two schools are made up of 24 classrooms on either side. complete pre-primary and primary cycle classes. With an equipped infirmary, multimedia rooms, play areas, accommodation for educational supervisors and a modern sports facility. The Minister of Education did not hide his satisfaction with the quality of the work, but also with the innovations found there. We also note specialized classes with the introduction of digitalization and the presence of a psychologist. “The personal development of the child and his protection interests us. It is from early childhood that we must work and help develop the adults of tomorrow. This is why we wanted to do things well before opening these schools,” she said.

It should be remembered that the commissioning of these new educational establishments will bring schools closer to families. To avoid learners having to travel long distances to reach school. The case of Bikele Ziwac where children braved nearly 7 km to get to school is a perfect illustration of this.
