44-year-old Ani Lorak has once again become the object of harsh criticism. Famous blogger Anton Suvorkin, better known as Anton S, harshly attacked the Ukrainian performer. The YouTube channel’s host was outraged by the fact that Lorak got a job on one of the Russian federal channels. Let us remember that Ani is now being criticized both in Russia and in Ukraine – after all, she has never spoken out about the conflict between the two countries, clearly trying to sit on two chairs and not lose contracts.
“Lorak is carried away, the woman is rushing about. I am watching this game with great amazement,” admits Suvorkin.
Residents of Ukraine are demanding that Ani Lorak be deprived of her awards, and some Russians believe that she is sponsoring the Ukrainian army. The singer herself does not hide the fact that she helps refugees from Ukraine – this is targeted assistance to people who have lost their homes. But financing any army, according to Lorak herself, would be contrary to its principles, because “only love and music can unite us in peace.”
“She doesn’t have money now, I understand. How difficult it is for Ukrainian performers to refuse troughs. How difficult it is to say “no” to money. How incredibly difficult it is to pretend and sing in Ukrainian! How a huge number of Ukrainian stars rush about in the hope of sitting on two chairs. We must express a clear position and remain human. I don’t care, I’ll perform in a Russian show. Rare hypocrisy!” — the blogger is indignant.
Ani Lorak herself answers questions about the military conflict that she is an artist, not a politician. Lorak sees his role as uniting people through creativity, rather than creating new boundaries and inciting even more hatred.
