Dutchwoman Carlein Swinkels Wins Second Consecutive Stage at Tour de la Semois

The athletes covered 119.8 kilometers with nine categorized climbs, the victory of the second stage in a row was celebrated by the Dutchwoman Carlein Swinkels (“Jumbo-Visma”), who reached the finish line in three hours, 23 minutes and 40 seconds.

“Cofidis” rider from Germany Klara Kopenburg lost two seconds to her, but the third place was taken by the Swiss Linda Dzanetti (UAE second team), finishing first in the group of 21 athletes 30 seconds later.

Dzaneti’s teammate Karbonāri finished alone, taking 48th place in the competition of 95 riders and losing two minutes and 20 seconds to the winner.

Swinkels also celebrated the victory in the overall standings, ahead of Kopenburg by 33 seconds and her Swiss teammate Noemi Riega by 57 seconds.

Carbonari ranked 35th, losing five and a half minutes to the winner.

Last year, the first “Tour de la Semois” cycling race was won by the Italian Maria Giulia Confalonieri.
