The state of health of Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov is critical, claims Ukrainian intelligence, which claims the authoritarian leader is in a coma.

However, the fact that the Chechen leader’s health has deteriorated has been suspected for a long time. The German newspaper Bild already reported in March that Chechnya’s former deputy prime minister Ahmed Zakajev claimed Kadyrov was suffering from kidney problems.
Kadyrov is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also appointed him leader of Chechnya in 2007.
