Adam and Evelocated on the ground floor of The Shops at Columbus Circle are two 12-foot-tall sculptures of Adam and Eve by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, world famous for his corpulent figures.
There are many who cannot seem to pass by the gigantic statues, which stand naked in the lobby, without a pat, a feel, a grasp or a touch.
The New York Times was right when it said that people play them “because it’s funny.” Because it’s the perfect combination of naughty and not too naughty.”
Art, after all, is created to be experienced and evoke emotions.
