US Moving Closer to Providing Limited Quantities of ATACMS Missiles to Ukraine: Pentagon Concerns Addressed

The United States is moving closer to providing Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles, but in limited quantities to ease Pentagon concerns about overuse of American stockpiles.

Details: Biden is noted to have not yet approved the transfer, but administration officials said they are taking a fresh look at delivering ATACMS to Kyiv this fall to help Ukraine quickly overcome the extensive defenses of Russian forces in the south.

Previously, Washington had already received assurances that Kyiv would not use the American weapons provided to it for attacks on Russian territory. As stated in the material, any provisions for the use of ATACMS will depend on such a promise from Ukraine.
