In response to the U.S. government’s recent provision of advanced weapons to my country through arms sales, military aid, and financing, Mainland China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Mao Ning announced sanctions on two U.S. military industrial companies on the 15th. They are Lockheed Martin’s branch in St. Louis, Missouri, and Northrop Grumman; she emphasized that China is unwavering in its determination to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The spokesperson previously stated that China will take resolute measures. Mao Ning made the above statement when I asked the spokesperson if he had any further information.
Mao Ning criticized that the U.S. government ignored China’s firm opposition and insisted on providing weapons to the “Taiwan Region of China”, seriously violating the “one China principle” and the provisions of the three Sino-U.S. joint communiqués, seriously violating international law and basic norms of international relations, and seriously damaging China’s sovereignty and Security interests have gone further and further down the wrong and dangerous path of arming Taiwan.

In accordance with the “Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People’s Republic of China”, China decided to impose sanctions on the above-mentioned two US military industrial companies.
In February this year, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Missiles and Defense would be included in the “Unreliable Entity List”, prohibiting them from engaging in China-related import and export activities and making new investments in China.
This time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced sanctions against two arms dealers, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. In addition to general arms sales, U.S. President Biden used the “Presidential Appropriation Authority” (PDA) for Taiwan for the first time at the end of July, providing Taiwan with US$345 million (approximately NT$10.8 billion) in military aid. At the end of August, through the “Foreign Military Financing Plan”, it announced that it would provide Taiwan with US$80 million (approximately NT$2.5 billion) in military aid.
