Celebrate the 40th European Heritage Days in Angers with these Five Exciting Outings

THE 40th European Heritage Days take place on September 15, 16 and 17 2023. Actu.fr offers you a selection of five outing ideas to enjoy Angers (Maine-et-Loire) of these days which are on the theme of arts and sport.

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, EDEIS Angers Airport, the Espace Air Passion museum, the West Flying Club and all the associations stationed on the site are opening their doors to the world of aviation and automobiles for the benefit of the Audrey association (Méningites France).

For the first time, the upper floor of the Saint-Aubin Tower is accessible to visitors. Discover the ceremonial room and the history of this place through an exhibition and guided tours led by ESTHUA master 1 students.

Garden of Fine Arts, 35 boulevard du Roi-René

The Jardin des Beaux-Arts is a cultural hub in downtown Angers. Continuous entertainment is planned over the weekend, starting on Friday evening with the outdoor screening of the film Billy Elliot. Numerous workshops and games are offered over the two days (art workshops and introduction to circus arts) as well as musical entertainment with four concerts.

Sunday September 17 at 5 p.m.: Circus, artists from the La Carrière circus school
Sunday September 17 at 6:15 p.m.: Arsenic fanfare.

Discovery tour of movable trees – Trélazé

During an 8 km commented walk or bike ride, participants will discover the ten remarkable trees identified in the town of Trélazé. The two presenters from the Loire Trélazé Sustainable Development Association (ADDULT) will explain the particularities of each variety and the unique history of their establishment. This visit will also be an opportunity to discuss the many historic headframes, witnesses of the city’s mining industry. Participants will also be able to climb the Butte de l’Enfer, which is a mound of shale waste resulting from slate mining. They will have the opportunity to admire, at its summit, the panorama of the slate sites and the Angevin conurbation.
