Ever since Nordland County Council formed its first county council in 1999, there has been one common denominator. The Labor Party has always been in power in the traditional red county.
But now there will be a blue shift in Nordland as well, even though Ap became the largest party in the county election.
The Center Party changes sides, and forms a majority with the Conservative Party, the Progressive Party and the Liberal Party.
This is confirmed by the top of the list for the Center Party, Svein Eggesvik to NRK.
– This coalition marks the beginning of a new era in the whole of Nordland. The northerner should notice that this is a blue-green change of pace, says Eggesvik.
Together, this four-leaf clover will have 23 and 45 seats in the county council, and thus a majority.

On Thursday it became known that the Center Party had entered into talks with the bourgeois parties in Nordland.

Shares the county council leader job
An unusual move in the new blue-green cooperation in Nordland is that the Center Party and the Conservative Party will share the role of county council leader. The other parties also switch roles along the way.

The Conservative Party gets county council for transport for the first two years, and responsibility for education throughout the period.
The Center Party will be responsible for finance and organization throughout the period, and will take over the county council for planning and industry for the last two years.
During the entire period, the Liberal Party will be responsible for society and the climate sector.

Consider removing county council organisation
On top of it all, the county council will also investigate whether to scrap the whole of parliamentarism and reintroduce the chairmanship model.
