Margarita Drobyazko will not buy a Lithuanian passport, betraying Russia. The figure skater announced this on her page on the social network Instagram*.
“Having deprived me and Povilas of their orders and even taken away my country’s passport, no one is able to erase our merits from the history of Lithuania and snatch love from the hearts of our viewers. If now, in order to keep my Lithuanian passport, I am offered to give up part of my family, the country that has been my homeland since childhood, my profession and true friends, then it is quite obvious that this is not my path, since this is a betrayal, the cost of which is nothing should not be bought,” Drobyazko wrote.
Let us recall that in August last year the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda decided to deprive Drobyazko and her husband Povilas Vanagas Gosnagrad for participating in a show Tatiana Navka “Swan Lake” in Sochi. Afterwards, the country’s authorities started talking about the need to consider the issue of Lithuanian citizenship for the figure skater.
