Director Juris Žagars and Actress Zane Jančevska Collaborate in the Play at Daile Theater

The director of Daile Theater Juris Žagars reveals in a conversation with “Privāto Dzīvi”: “With a little effort, we managed to persuade Zani to play in the play, which also includes her daughter Marta Lovisa. They will not meet on stage, that was the condition of the two actresses.”

Previously, the role of Jančevska was intended for Rēzija Kalniņa, but she announced in August of this year that she was leaving the staff position.

As you know, in 2021, actress Zane Jančevska left the staff position of the Latvian National Theater due to not being vaccinated against Covid-19. After the requirement for a mandatory vaccination certificate at the workplace in cultural institutions was abolished, Yanchevska did not return to the theater.

Jančevska worked at the National Theater since 1986.

On the other hand, Marta Lovisa studied at the Latvian Academy of Culture in 2018, but switched to studying acting in 2018-2022. in the acting course of the New Riga Theater. Since 2023, she has been a staff actress of the Daile Theater.
