Story Performance ‘Now. And Then?’ for World Dementia Day at WZC Ten Weldebrouc in Willebroek

WILLEBROEK – Tonight the story performance ‘Now. And then?’ takes place in the cafeteria of WZC Ten Weldebrouc in Willebroek.

In the context of World Dementia Day (21 September), Ten Weldebrouc organized an informative, accessible event for informal caregivers, family members, health care providers and for everyone who has to deal with dementia.

Maxime Vervloet, living and living supervisor: ‘During the performance, the actors from the Belgian Improvisation League will present a collection of their stories.’

‘It shows moments when the disease raises the most questions, when language changes and communication becomes difficult.’

‘But we also discover beauty, joy and possibilities. This is how we give dementia ‘a voice’.’

‘Every story is different with dementia. You will undoubtedly recognize some moments. Others don’t. Because there is only NOW. And then…’

‘I am the Living and Life supervisor at the closed cluster and lead the Dementia working group from which this evening is organised.’

‘As a future reference person for dementia from Ten Weldebrouc, this was already an important step in bringing people together and hearing their stories, so that we can continue to organize such evenings on a regular basis.’

‘At the beginning of 2024 we will start a family group for informal caregivers of people with dementia. This is primarily intended as a moment for fellow sufferers, where they can talk to each other using methods we have introduced.’ (EM / Photo Pixabay)
