From January to June, the two combined companies recorded a 20 percent increase in revenue from cybersecurity activities in German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland to 25 million francs, Nicolas Lutz, general director of Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland, announced on Thursday.
The new unit is particularly aimed at very small enterprises (TPE), small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and administrations. In total, it has more than a hundred experts in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure services, distributed between Morges, Geneva, Zurich and Bern, it said.
“Switzerland is the seventh largest cybersecurity market in Europe, accounting for around 2 billion Swiss francs in technology purchases and services,” said Laurent Celerier, executive vice president for Central Europe and International Affairs at Orange Cyberdefense.
Bought within four years Orange Cyberdefense four companies in Europe. In 2022, the company reported a 14 percent increase in sales to 937 million Swiss francs. In order to meet the diverse and growing needs of customers, Orange Cybersecurity Switzerland aims to hire around 30 experts by the end of the year and almost 200 by 2024.
