KARAWANG, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) paid a working visit to the PT PHI Green Power factory, Karawang, West Java, Thursday (14/9/2023). Jokowi hopes that Indonesia will enter the global supply change in the electric car market.

Jokowi explained that PT HLI Green Power will start producing 30 million battery cells for electric cars in early 2024. This amount can produce approximately 180 thousand electric cars.

“It is the largest in Southeast Asia and the first in Southeast Asia. The second is CATL, after CATL there is another third and fourth,” said Jokowi to media crew at the Bulog Warehouse, Purwasari, Karawang.
