Emma Coronel Aispuro, wife of the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, left the Long Beach residential reintegration complex where he served the last months of his sentence.
After being sentenced to three years in prison, accused of multiple charges related to drug trafficking, and having served two years and seven months deprived of her freedom, the 34-year-old former beauty queen returned to the streets, but will have to serve with a series of conditions imposed by Judge Rudolph Contreras in the District of Columbia Court.
The judge established that, once released, Coronel Aispuro will remain under surveillance for four years (48 months) due to her participation in the crimes of conspiracy for drug trafficking, money laundering and financial operations for the benefit of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The place where Emma Coronel will live will be defined by federal agents and, within 72 hours of her release, she must report to the judicial district offices corresponding to her new address. There, she will receive instructions regarding the frequency with which she must go before the authorities.
If you want to leave the district approved for your residence, or change your address, it must only be done with prior authorization from an agent of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Under this narrative, Emma Coronel must accept without restriction that an agent from said institution visits her “at any time in her home or wherever” for a review without prior notice.
You will need to have a full-time legal job that keeps you busy at least 30 hours a week. Once in the labor field, any change in her occupation or responsibilities must be notified at least 10 days in advance to the authorities.
Emma Coronel will be prohibited from engaging in any type of communication with people involved in criminal activities without a permit granted by the government. Nor will she have the right to possess or use firearms or any dangerous device.
In the event that she is arrested or questioned by a law enforcement officer, “El Chapo”’s wife must notify the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Finally, if during her period under supervision Coronel Aispuro is considered to represent a danger to any person or organization, the authorities will require that she notify those who may be at risk.
These conditions imposed by the judge were established and accepted by the former beauty queen’s legal team after accepting a plea agreement in 2021, in which it was also established that 1.5 million dollars would be confiscated from Emma Coronel. of the income and property he obtained thanks to his activities in drug trafficking.
“We can confirm that Emma Coronel Aispuro was released from the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons today, September 13, 2023. For privacy and security reasons, the FBOP does not provide additional information about individuals who are no longer in its custody,” he explained. Coronel Aispuro, 34, who was arrested in Virginia in February 2021, pleaded guilty to cooperating with the drug trafficking business of her husband “El Chapo” Guzmán, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2019 in the United States for the importation of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine to this country and for money laundering.
