The police believe that the owner of the car, which was found partially submerged in a body of water in Sylling in Lier municipality, was himself driving the car when the incident took place. The car owner is uninjured.
The emergency services received a report about the car at 9.22pm on Wednesday. Just over 15 minutes later, fire crews were pulling the vehicle out of the water. What has happened is currently not known.
Just before 10 p.m., the police had made contact with the car owner by phone. After the conversation, the police inform NTB that they believe only the car owner was involved, and that the person in question is safe and unharmed.
An air ambulance was called because it was unclear for a while whether there were any injured people at the scene.
At 10.30 p.m., operations manager Espen Reite stated that the police were in the process of terminating the scene. Then the car was in the process of being removed.
The police state that it is a small body of water measuring approximately 60 by 20 metres. The depth of the water should be approximately 1.8 metres.
