On March 7, 2022, it became known that Anatoly Evdokimenko, together with his father Ruslan Evdokimenko, were detained as part of a group of eight people in Mogilev-Podolsky, Vinnytsia region, while trying to illegally cross the border on an inflatable boat.
The Vinnitsa prosecutor’s office then reported that the Moldovan citizen who organized the illegal crossing received a monetary reward of $2 thousand from each of the participants.
Rotaru did not comment on the information about the detention of her son and grandson. In December of the same year, Anatoly Evdokimenko confirmed that he had left Ukraine.
