Starfield Updates: Native DLSS Support, PC Performance Test, and More

A week ago, the Starfield game from Bethesda Game Studios officially debuted. The production, which is the first new IP in the manufacturer’s offer in over 25 years, is offered on PC and Xbox Series consoles. Although many players were enthusiastic about the game from the very beginning, there are also more critical opinions about the second nature and implementation of solutions that are now very outdated. There is a message from Bethesda on the game’s official website, which discusses the most important things that will be modified or added in the upcoming updates.

Bethesda has published information about future updates to Starfield on its website. They will introduce, among others: native support for NVIDIA DLSS. Currently, DLSS can be installed as an unofficial modification, also in the Frame Generation version.

The current version of Starfield only offers support for the AMD FSR 2 scaling technique, but this will change soon. Bethesda she confirmed close cooperation with NVIDIA not only in terms of performance optimization for GeForce cards, but also in the context of the official implementation of the DLSS technique. For now, however, it is not known whether only the resolution scaling mode or also Frame Generation will be added. Additionally, Bethesda announced that it is working with Intel to improve game performance on Intel ARC cards.

Future game updates will also add options to modify image brightness and contrast. The current version of the game, regardless of whether we are talking about SDR or HDR, is characterized by very low contrast, as a result of which the blacks in the game are simply gray. Starfield will also have an HDR calibration menu, confirming that the current implementation leaves a lot to be desired. The game will also have a slider to adjust the field of view and support for ultra-wide monitors with 32:9 aspect ratio. Bethesda even announced the addition of a button that allows you to eat food. At the same time, the studio encourages the preparation of modifications for the game, and it has been confirmed that full support for mods will come to Starfield in early 2024. The modifications will be available in all versions of the game, both on PC and Xbox Series consoles.
