Ashraf Gurukal has decades of experience in Malayalam cinema. Actor, production manager, controller now fight master. So there are many disguises for gurus. Guru’s life is a flood of experiences.

But even today, he sees megastar Mammootty as his greatest miracle in cinema. Gurus say that Mammooka, who waved her goodbye from the huge crowd on the sets of ‘Mamanka’, will never be forgotten. Ashraf Gurukal relives that rare beautiful memory of his Malayalam film career.

Mammooka is a wonder to me like everyone else. Such a person said goodbye to me, and that too looking at me alone in the midst of a large crowd. Maybe no one in cinema is new to this, but I am not. Over the years, the film career has given me many experiences. However, Mammooka’s travelogue remains in my mind even today. I got that loving memory during the shooting of Mamankath.

35 years have passed since I came to cinema. From production control to acting and then action in the film industry. So he traveled in new ways in the cinema. Starting with the serial ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’, he is now doing action choreography in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Marathi languages besides Malayalam. He also worked in hit films like Janagamana, Mepadiyaan, Rekha, Oh Mary Laila, Appan.

He has done up to three films a day. Fight is what I learned by watching. My guru in Mindful Action is Thyagarajan Mash. Meanwhile I also got cancer but God helped me and I survived that too.

Ashraf Guru’s life is as interesting as the movie. A life full of tears and smiles.
