Art-à-porter: Bringing Culture and Local Businesses Together in Saint-Étienne

“We like bringing something other than books into the bookstore to multiply the layers of culture or create bridges. The idea of participating in this exhibition appealed to us immediately,” confides Thomas Vernet, from the Croquelinottes children’s bookstore.

The exhibition he is talking about is “Art-à-porter”, an initiative of the Young Economic Chamber of Saint-Étienne. The concept is simple: highlight local businesses and artists by integrating works into Saint-Etienne sales spaces and window displays.

“By creating an attractive event, the ambition is to attract Loire residents to the center of Saint-Étienne. By following the proposed route, they will be able to discover or rediscover businesses in the city center but also local artists,” explains the JCE.
