In the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon, since August 22, Gaëlle Hourriez-Bolâtre has taken up her duties as diplomatic advisor to the prefect of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Fabienne Buccio. Aged 42, the one who was notably trained at the Regional Institute of Administration of Lyon will have to “supporting local authorities in their external relations and supporting international economic development, in coordination with State services.
“Given its double border situation, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region presents significant challenges and opportunities in terms of European cooperation.according to the prefecture which mentions in particular “cross-border files with Switzerland and Italy” or “international cooperation and monitoring of international organizations, including the WHO and its future Academy as well as CERN”.
Gaëlle Hourriez-Bolâtre previously held the position of project manager to the Director of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. From 2011 to 2014, she was also Head of the Operators Division at the General Directorate of Globalization at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2014 to 2018, she served as number two and Cooperation and Cultural Action Advisor at the French Embassy in Iceland. She will then occupy, until 2020, the position of Director of the French Institute of Finland and Advisor for cooperation and cultural action at the French Embassy in Finland.
