Korone Inugami Reaches “Platinum” Rank in Street Fighter 6 and Pays Tribute to Late eSports Caster

Korone Inugami, a member of the VTuber group “Hololive” managed by Cover, broadcast the fighting game “Street Fighter 6” live on September 12th, and reached the “Platinum” rank in the ranked match. In the same broadcast, he expressed his gratitude to e-sports caster Nanai, who passed away suddenly on August 9th.

Korone Inugami is a VTuber who belongs to Hololive’s unit “Hololive Gamers” and is active on YouTube, focusing on retro game commentary. Regarding “Street Fighter 6”, he has been playing enthusiastically since participating in the “1st Crazy Raccoon Cup” tournament held in June. The character used is JP, and the controls are classic. He competed in the tournament as a member of the team “KaZoo no Ko,” led by professional gamer Kazunoko.

Initially, Inugami had little experience in fighting games, but he improved his skills through practice with his teammates, exchange games with other teams, and the guidance of Nanai, who was coaching the team. Although he was not able to achieve a satisfactory result in the actual tournament, he later demonstrated his ability when playing a ranked match in the live game of “Street Fighter 6”. In the distribution “[Strike 6]Ranked in JP!! I want to go to Gold![Korone Inugami/Hololive]” which was held from the night of September 11th to September 12th, the rank “Silver” was released after a one-month gap. He started with “Platinum” with 8 consecutive wins.

Since the tournament, he has consistently used JP as his character and has won many victories by making use of the combos and maneuvers he learned in the CR Cup.

After achieving the rank “Platinum” in the stream, Inugami prefaced this by saying, “I was hesitant about whether to mention it in the stream,” and thanked the late Nanai for his promotion to platinum. “It was great to be his apprentice,” he said, expressing his desire to continue to liven up the fighting game world.

Regarding the “Crazy Raccoon CUP” “Street Fighter 6” tournament scheduled to be held at “Tokyo Game Show 2023” on September 23rd, Inugami himself will not be participating, but he is considering watching the tournament at the same time to support him. .
