Continuing with the objective of bringing individuals the necessary information to contribute to their safety, the organization will publish four new educational videos as part of its campaign “Avoiding accidents is in our hands.”
The audiovisual pieces will be available every Wednesday, on their social networks and website, starting September 20, and will focus on recommendations to prevent incidents when traveling by bicycle or skateboard.
Bicycle accidents
One of the fundamental pillars of the awareness campaign will be the importance of wearing a helmet when driving a bicycle, since it reduces the chances of suffering injuries in the event of a fall by 80%.
Continuing with this line, the reminder about the use of lights and reflective clothing is reinforced, as it reduces the chances of cyclists having a crash at night.
Skateboard accidents
As a result of the increase in the number of skateboards on public roads, it has been considered necessary to provide information on the prevention of accidents in this vehicle.
Recent research has shown that the most common injuries in skateboarding incidents are blows to the head, broken bones, and dislocated shoulders. Not drinking alcohol before driving reduces the risk of suffering these injuries.
Additionally, it is noted that 80% of skateboard incidents result in a fall. In these cases, the helmet emerges as essential equipment to avoid serious injuries.
Let’s remember: avoiding accidents is in our hands.
